Montreal Hurricanes Tryouts

Hello parents and players:

As we prepare for the 2020-2021 season, we wanted to provide you with some information about The Montreal Hurricanes tryouts process.  The Hurricanes is a competitive hockey team made up of players from NDG Hockey and Hockey Sud-Ouest which plays in the BB class.

This year, due to Covid 19, registration for the tryouts will be online only.  In order to register, please go to : https://hurricanesbb.com/inscription-camp-selection-try-outs/ .  Despite price increases from our various suppliers and no reduction in fees from Hockey Québec or Hockey Montréal, the Hurricanes will maintain the 2019-2020 season fee schedule as well as for the try-outs, being $50 per player.  Fees should be paid by e-transfer to Margaret.lambton@ndghockey.com.  Please ensure to indicate the name of the player on the e-transfer.  All registered players will be afforded the opportunity to participate in at least 3 tryout events.

We would ask that you please register and pay the fees by September 3, 2020.  We would also like to remind you that in order to participate in Hurricanes tryouts, a player must first be duly registered with NDG Hockey or Hockey Sud-Ouest.

Jersey pick up will be at Doug Harvey Arena and held on:

September 03, 2020 U13(Peewee) 6:30-7:00 PM Players whose last names begin with A through M
U13(Peewee) 7:00-7:30 PM Players whose last names begin with N through Z
September 03, 2020 U15(Bantam) 7:30-8:00 PM Players whose last names begin with A through M
U15(Bantam) 8:00-8:30 PM Players whose last names begin with N through Z
September 03, 2020 U18(Midget) 8:30-9:00 PM Players whose last names begin with A through M
9:00-9:30 PM Players whose last names begin with N through Z

At this time, with the information from the Ministry of Health and Hockey Québec, we expect tryouts for the PeeWee (U13) level and higher to begin during the week of September 8, 2020.  Information regarding the Atom (U11) BB selection process will be provided by the Atom (U11) convenor once hockey activities resume.

As we discussed in a previous communication, The Hurricanes must abide by a number of constraints imposed by public health authorities due to Covid-19.  One of the most important constraint is the maximum number of players which can be on the ice at any given time.

As in the past, registration for Hurricanes tryouts for categories PeeWee (U13) and up will be open to everyone.

We encourage all players who would like to tryout to register.

Sincerely,

The Montreal Hurricanes
